This policy describes cookies and similar browser technologies used by vicinityagency.com. See our Privacy Policy for how personal information is otherwise handled.

1. What is stored

Essential (always on, needed for a feature you use):

  • Client-room session cookie (va_brand_room): Set only when you enter a valid key for a private client room. It is HttpOnly, limited to /brand-rooms, and expires after 30 days or when you sign out.
  • Client-room draft (local storage): In a client room, your name, choices and answers are saved in your own browser as a draft until you send or clear them. The draft is not sent to us unless you select send.
  • Consent record: Your Accept or Decline choice is stored in your browser (va_nonessential_consent_v2, with the time of your choice in va_nonessential_consent_at_v2) and in a first-party cookie (va_nonessential_consent) that our server reads before sending any event to Meta. The choice expires one year after you make it; the banner then appears again.

Optional (only after you select Accept):

  • Google Analytics (measurement ID G-Y4YH0V72XB): measures pages viewed, visit and device/browser information, and records when an enquiry form is sent (not its contents). If we run Google Ads, the same tag records that event as an ad conversion. Google sets its own cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and controls their lifetimes. See Google's privacy information.
  • Visit source (session storage, va_attribution_v1): Keeps the campaign tags and landing page of your visit while the tab is open, so an enquiry sent from another page can include where you came from. It never leaves your browser unless you send the enquiry form, and it is cleared when you close the tab or decline.
  • Meta Pixel (ID 1119259693824159): records a page view on each page you visit (including private client-room pages), a Contact event when you select a telephone or email link, and a Lead event when you send the enquiry form. Your browser sends Meta the page address, referring page, browser and device information, and your IP address, and Meta may set _fbp and _fbc cookies and store lastExternalReferrer and lastExternalReferrerTime in local storage. Automatic collection of button and page details is switched off. See Meta's privacy policy.
  • Meta Conversions API (server-side): When you select a telephone or email link, or send the enquiry form, our server also sends Meta a Contact or Lead event containing the page address (without query string), the time, an event ID, your IP address, your browser's user-agent, and your _fbp/_fbc values if present. It is sent only if the consent cookie says Accept. It does not include the email address or phone number in the link, your name, or anything you type.

Google Analytics and Meta do not load, and no Meta server-side events are sent, before you accept. The Site does not use Vercel Web Analytics. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps server logs of requests; these are not browser cookies. See the Privacy Policy.

2. Your controls

The banner offers Accept and Decline with equal prominence. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer. If you withdraw consent, the Site stops Google Analytics and Meta Pixel collection from that point, stops server-side Meta events, and deletes the Google Analytics and Meta cookies and Meta local-storage values it can access. Data already sent to Google or Meta before you withdrew is held under their own retention settings. Browser controls can also block or clear stored values. Blocking essential session storage may prevent access to private client rooms.

Your preference lasts up to one year. If the Site adds a new tracking purpose or provider, we will update this policy and seek any new consent required before it runs.

3. Third-party services and embeds

The Site contains no embedded social feeds, videos, maps, scheduling widgets, or remotely hosted fonts. Social links open third-party sites only when selected. Google Analytics and Meta are the only third-party tracking technologies, and they run only after consent.
